Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a CT Technologist with at least 1 year of experience, ARRT and BLS certifications, and proficiency in IV starts for a weekend shift assignment.

Responsibilities

• Position is in an acute care setting within a dedicated CT department
• Three Philips Ingenuity (128) CT scanners are used
• 12-hour shifts on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
• Average volume is 50 scans per scanner daily, totaling 150 scans in the department
• Performs general CT imaging with and without IV contrast, including CTA, TAVR, Watchman, Cystography, and Enterography
• No floating to other departments is required
• Uses Cerner EMR and Cerner CAMM 7 PACS
• On-call is not part of the regular rotation but may be covered for other technologists as arranged
• Holiday coverage is required if they fall on a scheduled shift
• Duties include starting IVs and administering contrast safely and appropriately
• Training and orientation provided during the first week (36 hours over three 12-hour shifts or four 9-hour shifts)
• Scrub color is burgundy, but this is not required for travelers unless preferred
• Teleradiology services are utilized with a radiology support team available
• Weekend shifts are required and include rotation every third weekend
• There is a manager on weekdays and a technical advisor on each shift, with additional on-call imaging management and PACS support after hours

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of CT Technologist experience
• Current ARRT (R) certification required; ARRT (R)(CT) preferred
• BLS (CPR) certification required
• IV site acquisition experience and proficiency with IV starts required
• ISDOH (Indiana State Department of Health) license required if applicable
• Strong knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy
• Preferred experience with CT Registry
