    This position is located at the Minnesota Correctional Facility (MCF) - Lino Lakes and performs skilled new plumbing installation, replacement, alteration, maintenance, repair of plumbing, drainage and sewage disposal systems including, but not limited to, water supply/distribution pipes, drainage, vent pipes, building drains, fittings, hydrants, valves, plumbing, heating fixtures, traps, and water and drainage systems according to specifications in the State of Minnesota plumbing codes. An employee in this class trains and directs the work of offender plumber/fitters, laborers, other trades and maintenance employees. The work for this position is ongoing, with a daily responsibility to prioritize, schedule, assign, direct, guide, document and report on the work activities and complete work in an efficient and effective manner.

    This position has direct contact with incarcerated individuals.

    **Minimum Qualifications**

    To be qualified for and considered for this position, applicants must meet all of the minimum qualifications listed below. Ensure that your resume contains descriptions of your work experiences sufficient for comparison against the requirements stated below and indicate the beginning and ending month and year for each job held.

    + Possession of a Minnesota Journey-level Plumber License.

    + Possession of a valid Drivers License, which may be required for specific job assignments.

    **Preferred Qualifications**

    + Facility or plant maintenance experience as a Journey-level Plumber

    + At least two years of experience performing preventive maintenance work.

    + Experience in soldering, pro-press and techniques attaching old plumbing to modern plumbing.

    + Experience in welding, soldering, and machining.

    **Physical Requirements**

    The completion of pre-placement physical components may be required for this position. These components may consist of a tuberculosis screening, commercial drivers license (CDL) drug test, and/or respirator clearance.     The selection process may include screening the top candidate(s) on their criminal history, predatory offender registration, offender associations and/or other applicable background information in accordance with Department of Corrections policy. Top candidate(s) must pass a criminal history check which includes successful completion of all sentencing and/or restitution requirements of law enforcement jurisdictions, including probation.

    Employment history/reference checks, including incidents of sexual harassment, will also be conducted on the top candidate(s) in accordance with Department of Corrections policy. This may include a review of job performance and discipline records.
