    job summary:
    We are seeking a highly experienced Civil Engineering Director of Transportation to lead our Transportation Department across six offices. This is a direct hire opportunity located in Schaumburg IL.

    The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in IDOT roadway and bridge design projects and a passion for mentoring and leading teams. This person will be familiar with IDOT codes and regulations

    This postion does offer a 5K RELOCATION package

    Qualifications

    • Experience with highways, cross sections, bike paths and walking paths

    • Design experience plotting highways with Civil 3D and other design programs

    • Excellent leadership and client relation skills

    responsibilities:
    • Leading the Transportation Department and overseeing and mentoring multiple Project Managers across multiple offices.

    • Managing and tracking the Department's Backlog.

    • Leading Department Staffing Coordination Meetings.

    • Manage client relationships and actively cultivate new business connections.

    • Work with Business Development Team to identify IDOT PTB Items to pursue.

    • Perform Quality Assurance/Quality Checks on all projects

    • Managing and designing current IDOT Phase I and II engineering projects as well as County and Municipal Transportation projects.

    • Interpret specifications and drawings, recommend and document design modifications, and coordinate with the design team.

    • Assist with and prepare proposals to obtain new transportation projects.
