    Job Summary

    Drexel University's Facilities Management Department is seeking a qualified candidate to serve as a Union Electrician / Multi-skilled Maintenance employee.

    Essential Functions

  • General maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical equipment, including sub-panels, wiring, and motors.
  • Respond to service calls for general building maintenance items campus-wide which will include work in classrooms, restrooms and occasionally residence halls, athletic facilities and outdoor work. Calls will include repair requests for doors, windows, roofs, electrical, plumbing, furnishings, locks, safety protection and other items as required.
  • Maintain HID devices. Replace fluorescent ballasts and tubes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

    • Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 3 Years of Experience
  • Candidate must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Philadelphia electrical contractor's license or equivalent license
  • Candidate should be proficient in working on V-V single phase and three phase systems
  • Must have the ability to wire sub-panels, motors, and other electrical equipment.
  • Job requires an employee who can perform with minimum supervision and take the initiative to complete the assignment.

    • Preferred Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience preferred.

  • Typically standing, walking
  • Typically bending, crouching, stooping
  • Lifting demands ≤ 50lbs

    This position is classified as exempt, union position. Compensation for this position is $32.19 as per the Union contract.
