    We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Junior Financial Analyst to join our team at a top Am Law 200 law firm.

    You will play a critical role in supporting our financial operations, specifically focused on the unique needs of a large and complex legal practice.

    This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in financial modeling, legal industry metrics, and supporting strategic decision-making for a leading law firm.


    Responsibilities:


    Analyze and consolidate financial data (budgets, partner compensation models, practice group profitability reports, etc.) to assess the firm's financial health and alignment with strategic goals.

    Develop and recommend cost-saving strategies specific to the legal industry, such as optimizing partner compensation models or streamlining billing practices.

    Construct and present insightful reports summarizing key performance indicators (KPIs) like profitability by practice group, client matter realization rates, and overall firm leverage.

    Build financial models tailored to the Am Law 200 landscape, considering factors like lateral hiring, client concentration, and litigation contingencies.

    Conduct benchmarking analyses to compare the firm's performance against industry peers and identify areas for improvement.
    Partner with practice groups to understand their financial needs and provide data-driven recommendations to support business development efforts.

    Monitor actual results against forecasts for key metrics like partner distributions and overall revenue to identify variances and potential risks.

    Analyze law firm-specific general ledger accounts, such as WIP (work in progress) and unbilled receivables, to ensure accurate financial reporting.

    Stay up-to-date on legal industry trends and best practices in financial management for law firms.


    Qualifications:
    Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (required).
    Familiarity with the legal industry financial metrics or professional service firms (a plus).
    Proficiency in spreadsheets (Excel) with strong financial modeling skills.
    Experience with financial databases and data analysis tools like OLAP cubes (preferred).
    Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely.
    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
