    Position and Salary

    The Attorney General's Office is recruiting for a permanent full time AGO Senior Investigator/Analyst for the Executive Ethics Board. This position is located in Olympia, Washington, and is represented by the Washington Federation of State Employees (WFSE).

    AGO Senior Investigator/Analyst Range 66:
    $76,188 - $102,540

    The base pay offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the preferred candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

    The following stipends may apply based on position requirements:


    • Incumbents assigned to our Seattle office location receive an additional 5% King County Location Pay stipend.
    • Incumbents assigned to a position designated as requiring dual language skills will receive a 5% Dual Language Requirement Pay stipend.

    Division Information

    The Executive Ethics Board is a five-member board appointed by the Governor.

    The Board is responsible for interpreting and enforcing the state law governing ethics in public service, chapter 42.52 RCW, for all officers and employees in the executive branch of state government including boards, commissions and institutions of higher education.

    The Attorney General's Office provides the staff for the Board. There are four staff members; the Executive Director, Administrative Officer, and two Senior Investigator/Analysts.

    What does an AGO Senior Investigator Analyst do?


    This position will assist with the promotion of public policy that is in the best interest of the citizens we serve by investigating allegations of unethical behavior by elected officials and state employees and presents the Board with information on the investigation so that it may make informed decisions on whether to assess penalties for violations that may have occurred.

    This position investigates complex and/or high profile investigations of elected officials and state employees and requires forensic review of evidence using a Forensic Recovery Evidence Device.

    This position is responsible for interviewing the subject and any witness and then documenting investigative findings and presenting them to the Executive Ethics Board.

    The position participates in settlement negotiations, assists legal counsel in preparation for hearing and testifies as the subject matter expert in administrative hearings and/or court of law.

    This position also develops curricula and trains Executive branch state employees on the Ethics in Public Service Act.

    Required qualifications:


    Bachelor's degree and ten years of experience conducting investigations, which include the authority to independently plan and conduct investigations in civil or criminal cases.

    Additional qualifying investigative experience may substitute year for year for education.

    OR

    Five years' experience as an AGO Investigator/Analyst.
