    Managing Veterinarian/Medical Director opening in Western Pennsylvania

    The Opportunity - Camboro Veterinary Hospital located in Edinboro, PA just 25 miles south of the City of Erie and beautiful Lake Erie is hiring a compassionate and driven Managing Veterinarian/Medical Director.

    Responsibilities - As Managing Veterinarian/Medical Directory of the practice you will be responsible for providing excellent medical leadership, creating an environment of teamwork, managing Associate veterinarians and assuring regulatory compliance relating to the practice of veterinary medicine.

    Advancing Medicine - In an effort to advance medical practices the Managing Veterinarian/Medical Director will oversee surgical and medical cases for all doctors to ensure accurate estimates and positive client communication. The Managing Veterinarian/Medical Director will maintain medical protocols, assure current licensure of all Veterinarians, document required CE hours per calendar year and oversee transfer of medical cases.

    Financial Responsibilities - In partnership with the Hospital Manager, the Managing Veterinarian/Medical Director is responsible for the financial performance of the hospital. Responsibilities include:

    • Preparing operating and capital budgets and meeting budget expectations
    • In tandem with the Hospital Manager, directing staff and the overall management of the practice, under the direction of NVA Divisional Leadership.
    • Managing of the hospital's revenue, expenses and preparing an annual planning matrix.
    • Ownership for the revenue and success of the practice by monitoring key financial reports.
    Team Leadership and Management - As a leader the Managing Veterinarian/Medical Director will participate in the recruiting and interview process for Veterinarians and general team members when appropriate. The Managing Veterinarian/Medical Director will monitor other Veterinarians performance, prepare their work schedules and develop compliance protocols. The Managing Veterinarian/Medical Director will handle training of all medical staff including mentorship of new graduates.

    Additional leadership responsibilities of this role include:
    • Participation in technician appraisal and counseling sessions by relaying appropriate information to the Hospital Manager.
    • Support of the Hospital Manager in the development of staff training programs and develop workplace conduct to ensure positive working relationships between clients, doctors and staff.
    • Minimize waste and costs relating to medical supplies, surgical instruments and drug inventories.
    Growing the Practice - as the Managing Veterinarian/Medical Director at Camboro Veterinary Hospital you will be joining a team of 3 Doctors and 24 support staff, comprised of technicians, receptionists, vet assistants and kennel attendants. Growing the practice is crucial component of this role. The Managing Veterinarian/Medical Director will partner with the Hospital Manger to drive patient visits and community involvement by championing change and driving innovation. The Managing Veterinarian/Medical Director will monitor client service, marketing and NVA growth initiatives.

    The Hospital - As the Managing Veterinarian / Medical Director at Camboro Veterinary Hospital you will be an invaluable member of our team helping to provide high quality medicine to our loyal clientele. We have 6 modern exam rooms, and a large hospital waiting and reception area. Our treatment area includes 2 wet sinks, 2 treatment tables and 8 ICU kennels. Exam rooms are equipped with MedRX otoscopes. Our doctors enjoy a full in-house laboratory system, digital radiology, ultrasound, laser scalpel, laser therapy and access to retail and pet discharge areas.

As home to Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, it is a small college town, as well as a resort community.
