Job summary
The primary function of the Purchasing Analyst is to provide analytical support to all areas of the Purchasing department. He or she will improve the Purchasing department performance through accurate and timely pricing information and analysis of purchasing/pricing data.
Responsibilities
- Manage the retrieval, documentation, and remediation of wallboard & insulation pricing (possibly more categories in the future). Keep accurate and timely records of all pricing changes, organize prices. Effectively communicate pricing changes with all GMS locations. Facilitate effective communication between vendors and GMS locations.
- Develop and analyze purchasing data, generate reports, and identify opportunities for process improvement. Organize and distribute product codes for new products, manage and organize existing codes (gate keeper for all codes).
- Develop and maintain tools for product/product group and vendor margin analysis. Provide purchasingandpricinganalysisforpurchasings teamtopreparefornegotiations.
