    About the Position:
    This position is located at the Blue Grass Army Depot, in Richmond Kentucky.

    If you are a current Army employee and would like to be considered for a Temporary Promotion, Reassignment, or Change to Lower Grade NTE 13 months position, please apply under Announcement MCGL Responsibilities Serves as an Environmental Engineer in the Environmental Division acting as program manager for one or more environmental programs, technical expert, and principal advisor to the Division.

    Utilizes scientific and engineering principles to conduct environmental audits to develop alternative course of actions for top-level management decision making.

    Maintains technical correctness of installation plans, programs, and policies ensuring compliance with local, Federal, DOD, and Army environmental laws, regulations, directives, and applicable procedures in the assigned areas of responsibility.

    OR Education:

    One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Environmental Engineering.

    OR Superior Academic Achievement.

    In order to be creditable under this provision, Superior Academic Achievement must have been gained in a curriculum that is qualifying for the position to be filled, such as that identified in Education above.


    Superior Academic Achievement is based on:
    (1) Class Standing
    • Applicants must be in the upper third of the graduating class in the college, university, or major subdivision, such as the College of Liberal Arts or the School of Business Administration, based on completed courses; OR (2) Grade-Point Average (G.

    OR Combination of Education and Experience:

    A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

    To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12.

    Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18.

    This is a(n) Engineers and Scientists (Resources and Construction) Career Field position. Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement. Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement.

    Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest.

    This is a developmental position and may be filled at any grade level. This position provides non-competitive promotion potential to the full performance grade of GS-12 if all requirements are met.

    Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a term appointment will be appointed/converted into a term appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position.

    Position may be filled as a term appointment NTE 13 months. Term appointments may be extended beyond six (6) years, up to eight (8) years. With DoD approval, term appointments may be extended beyond eight (8) years.
