- Works closely with the Physician, PA, or NP toreceive guidance and instruction for treating patients and prepares patientsfor radiological procedures and take X-rays following established proceduresfor patient care and safety.
- Protect patients, yourself and staff fromradiation exposure by practicing sound procedures which meet or exceedrecommended industry standards.
- Provide fluoroscopic support during surgicalprocedures, assisting team in image identification, recording anddocumentation.
- Utilizes EHR to log completed radiologicalprocedures and order entries, retrieves and scans reports and assures patientcharging. Request, retrieve and track files to and from other departments and/orcenters. Complete documentation accurately and on time.
- Transport of patients as needed to and from theImaging services department. Requestsassistance when needed.
- Obtain, develop and process quality diagnosticradiographs as requested by Physician, PA, or NP.
- Ensure that all equipment is in good workingcondition and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations and reportimmediately any equipment malfunctions to Supervisor.
- Maintain x-ray room, stock and rotateradiological supplies.
- Provides orientation and training to newRadiology Techs and make suggestions to improve work methods.
- Otherduties may be assigned.
- Meets dress code standards and adheres topolicy.
- Completes annual education requirements.
- Maintains regulatory requirements.
- Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
- Reports to work on time and as scheduled,completes work within designated time.
- Wears identification while on duty, usescomputerized punch time system correctly.
- Completes in-services and returns in a timelyfashion.
- Attends annual review and departmentin-services, as scheduled.
- Attends staff meetings annually, reads andreturns all monthly staff meeting minutes where applicable.
- Represents the organization in a positive andprofessional manner.
- Actively participates in performanceimprovement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities.
- Complies with all organizational policiesregarding ethical business practices.
- Communicates the mission, ethics and goals ofthe hospital, as well as the focus statement of the department.
- Promotesprofessional growth of subordinates by sharing knowledge and/or directing themto sources if information appropriate to given situation. Utilizes journals,books, etc. to learn and/or improve new techniques and equipment.
- Assistsother staff members in performing any duty that enhances the delivery ofpatient care.
- Graduate of an accredited radiologictechnologists program
- Current ARRT
- Current Louisiana State License LRT
- Current BLS certification or able to obtainwithin 30 days of hire
- Two years of experience preferred and must beproficient in diagnostic radiology. One year working competency preferred inone section of other specialized area: surgery.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English,both verbally and in writing.
- Basiccomputer knowledge.

Thetechnologist will provide services timely and efficiently at appropriate levelsto all patients and in all settings served by the department. Provide imaging and fluoroscopic supportduring surgical procedure. The Technologist will perform tasks and duties asoutlined per hospital policy and procedure. Will assist in assigned administrative tasks and will maintain clinicalcompetencies through participation in educational and orientationprograms. Always works as a team memberwithin the entire facility. Performsother duties as assigned.

Professional Requirements
(CR.1c) As part of the AdvancedOrthopedic and Spine Certification, at a minimum, the Program direct-carestaff, must have one (1) hour of education specific to the Program scope,initially, and at least annually thereafter.
(CR.1e) As part of the AdvancedOrthopedic and Spine Certification, staff possess adaptability to processes asrelated to up to date best practices, collaboration between departments,compliance with protocols/processes, communication, cooperation and exceptionalcustomer service.
Within 90 days of hire or, ifcurrently employed, within 90 days of signing the job description, must adhereto:
