    Description

TeamHealth needs someone like you TeamHealth has an excellent opportunity for a full-time medical director and clinical intensivist to join our critical care team at Conway Medical Center in Conway, South Carolina, close to Myrtle Beach. Conway Medical Center is a 222-bed, full service hospital with a 32 bed medical/surgical ICU. Enjoy a flexible block schedule working day shifts with APC support. Employed position with health benefits and retirement options. Clinical responsibilities:
    • Rounding, admitting and discharging of ICU patients
    • Night call backing up the APC
    • Average patient census per day is 18-20 encounters split between the Intensivist and APC
    Medical director responsibilities:
    • Oversight and support of all clinical and non-clinical activities provided by the hospitalist program
    • Creating a team culture that values high performance and excellent patient care
    • Ensuring that the hospitalists are engaged and their efforts are aligned with the quality, safety and efficiency goals of the hospital
    The medical director, along with TeamHealth support staff, will strive to maintain a strong partnership between TeamHealth and the facility, resulting in the highest quality of patient care. Other position highlights include but are not limited to: managing the program to achieve clinical, operational and financial goals, strategic planning responsibilities such as physician communications, business development, manage care strategies, and more, and participates in clinical oversight of the practice. You will take the lead in recruiting, orientation and onboarding of new hire clinicians, monitor individual hospitalist performance, provide feedback and coordinates interventions, and complete routine performance reviews, as needed. Work with the regional medical director and vice president of operations to adhere to the facility contractual requirements and operating budget and ensure client satisfaction.     Conway Medical Center
    Conway Medical Center is a trusted leader in healthcare and has served the medical needs of Horry County and surrounding communities for nearly a century. This non-profit medical center's roots run deep in Horry County. Today, Conway Medical Center has 210 inpatient beds and is one of the county's largest employers with over 1500 staff members. Conway Medical Center's medical staff is comprised of approximately 200 physicians, representing 30 specialties. Diagnostic services include cardiac catheterization, PET scanning, two high-speed GE CT Systems including a 64-slice CT scanner, 3-D Mammography with SmartCurve technology, 3-D heart scans, PET scanning, MRI, breast MRI, bone-density screening, digital mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy, high definition endoscopy/bronchoscopy, and a sleep-disorders lab. The facility also offers an outpatient physical therapy and cardiac rehabilitation program. Conway Medical Center specializes in general and vascular surgery, joint replacement surgery, spine surgery, medical care to include critical care, telemetry, inpatient dialysis, palliative care, obstetrics, pediatrics and women's services.

    As the county seat of Horry County, South Carolina, Conway is part of the Myrtle Beach metropolitan area and home of Coastal Carolina University. Numerous buildings and structures in Conway are on the National Register of Historic Places, including the City Hall building, reputedly designed by Robert Mills, architect of the Washington Monument. The 1980s brought the completion of the Main Street USA project that revitalized Conway's downtown with shops and bistros.
