    Description

    Position: C++ Software Engineer

    Location: 11717 Exploration Lane, Germantown, MD(Onsite)

    Duration: 8 months. Probably will continue beyond. May convert to FTE for right candidate.

    • Client has an exciting opportunity for a Contractor - Software Engineer in our Client division with Top Secret Clearance. Candidate must have C/C++ skills, is energetic, creative and team oriented to work on latest SATCOM modem and networking technologies.


    • The individual will be part of an engineering team that develops embedded networking and application software using latest toolchains in an agile software development environment.


    • The position is based in our Germantown, Maryland office.

    Responsibilities


    • Software design, development, integration and support activities


    • Actively participate in software development


    • Complete development tasks within agreed timebox


    • Analyze and resolve software issues.

    Requirements


    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field


    • 5+ years of software development experience in C/C++ and automated unit testing


    • Must currently hold Top Secret Clearance for this position.

    Preferred Qualifications


    • Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field


    • Experience with scripting languages Python/Shell, source control systems (e.g. GIT)


    • Experience with web development viz.


    • Experience in Multi-threaded application development and inter-process communication


    • Experience with networking protocols, messaging libraries, socket programming


    • Experience of agile development methodology, especially Scrum and Atlassian tools like Jira


    • Good written and verbal communication skills


    • Ability to multi-task and work collaboratively within a team environment


    • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
