    Job Title: Food & Beverage Assistant Manager
    Reports to: Dining Room Manager, Food & Beverage Director

    Description:

    The Dining Room Assistant Manager ensures a high standard of appearance, hospitality, and service in personnel and cleanliness of the dining spaces the restaurants and halfway houses. Plans and executes service and events, supports managers, manages hourly staff, and keeps members top of mind.

    Responsibilities:
    • Managerial presence on floor during service hours.
    • Communicates between front of house and back of house.
    • Helps supervise and train all dining room staff. Assists with onboarding process for new hires.
    • Follows and enforces the sequence of service techniques including but not limited to: delivering drinks, ordering food, coursing, and firing food.
    • Inspects overall room for cleanliness and works with Manager on preventative maintenance. Inspects tabletops to ensure neat, clean, and orderly presentation.
    • Verifies that all side work is assigned and completed. Report any issues or concerns to the Manager.
    • Strives to learn members' names and preferences. Builds rapport with new members and existing members.
    • Manages member and guest requests and ensures members are directed appropriately.
    • Checks emails and updates reservations daily. Forecasts proper flow using SevenRooms to provide exceptional service.
    • Completes an end of the shift report for respective sales areas and ensures accuracies. Compares actual numbers to budget. Reviews financials with manager weekly.
    • Attends monthly manager meetings and contributes ideas. Has excellent foresight with respect to knowing what is going on in the club, companion amenities, and Montgomery County.
    • Develops and measures interesting ways of promoting and marketing dining functions. Executes events in the dining room such as action stations, golf related events, happy hours, live music, tailgates, and specialty dining.
    • Assists managers with all marketing content.
    • Understands or possesses a willingness to learn about golf operations as they relate to food and beverage. Takes a vested interest in the clubhouse and golf course.
    • Develops rapport with the golf staff and reviews the tee sheets.
    • Willingness to adapt to Union League culture and to learn about other League companion amenities.
    • Flexible schedule based on business and event needs; required to work evenings and weekends. Works holidays to include but not limited to: Mother's Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Member Guest, Thanksgiving.
    • Supports and works in all F&B outlets, pending service levels between the dining rooms and banquet events.

    Skills and Requirements:
    • Self-directed and proactive
    • Work well with other employees, including chefs and dining staff

    • Budgeting and forecasting
    • At least 1 year of dining management experience preferred
    • Wine and beverage knowledge
    • Willingness to learn our systems including: SevenRooms, JONAS, ACCUBAR, and ADP
    • Proficient in Microsoft Windows/PC, Outlook 365 (Outlook, Teams)
    • Morning, Nights, holidays, weekends. We will try to provide a stable schedule however; different events and outlets require varied hours
