Job DescriptionThreads 4 Thought is looking to hire a Full-time Associate Technical Designer, with a minimum of 3+ years' experience. This is a Hybrid position working 3 days in our Sherman Oaks office and 2 days from home. The position encompasses many different responsibilities throughout the design process, from initial development into production stages.

Job Responsibilities
Work closely to support technical design department: womens and mens divisions
Evaluate and measure samples in a timely manner in preparation for regularly scheduled fittings
Work closely with tech design team to record sample status during all stages of development and approval processes - Proto, Fit, PP, TOP
Responsible for maintaining and updating tech pack files (style development files, etc.)
Daily communications with offshore factories and internal cross functional members to address and troubleshoot garment fit, construction and/or workmanship issues throughout the garment life cycle.
Attend fittings alongside tech team and document detailed fit notes to communicate any revisions/ updates in Fit comments released to factories
Attend Design hand off meetings to create Development and Production tech packs on new styles/ designs - from prototype stages to final production stages.
Help to maintain Design/ Tech Fabric and Trim approvals (lab dips/ bulks/strike offs/ samples)
Sample tracking for scheduled fittings
Report to Senior Tech Designer
Requirements
Associate Degree or related work experience in Fashion Design / Technical Design
Minimum of 3 year experience in technical design; activewear experience a plus
Knowledge and familiarity in garment specs, bill of materials and garment construction is a must.
Any patternmaking and grading knowledge is a plus, not required.
Exceptional attention to design and garment details
Ability to multitask and comfortable working in a fast pace environment
Must be highly organized; able to take direction and work independently.
Must be a team player with a positive, can-do attitude.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft excel, PDM, PLM, Adobe Suites (Illustrator and Photoshop)
Portfolio (tech packs) to support experience a plus
Salary range- 48k- 55k depending on experience.
