    Johnson Electric is seeking an experienced Buyer to join our team on a fixed-term contract basis for 6 months. As a Buyer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facility by sourcing and procuring materials necessary for production. Your responsibilities will include managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and optimizing supply chain processes. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in purchasing, a keen eye for cost-effective solutions, and a passion for driving efficiency.

    Your Responsibilities Would Be:
    • Indirect Purchases: You will be responsible for indirect purchases that directly support our facility's operations.
    • End-to-End Procure-to-Pay (P2P): Manage the entire procurement process for assigned areas, from requisition to delivery.
    • Supplier Relationship Building: Cultivate strong relationships with both new and existing suppliers to ensure reliable partnerships.
    • Risk and Cost Mitigation: Identify opportunities for risk reduction and cost savings within the supply chain.
    • Project Development and Implementation: Collaborate with team members to develop and execute strategic projects.
    • Communication and Presentation: Effectively communicate information to internal teams and external suppliers.
    Our Requirements:
    • Minimum of 2 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
    • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems.
    • Knowledge of vending and/or vendor-managed inventory (VMI) processes.
    • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
    • Strong analytical skills for total cost of ownership evaluation.
    • Team player who thrives in a fast-paced, demanding environment
    • General understanding of manufacturing processes and services.
    Advantageous Qualifications:
    • Purchasing and/or lean manufacturing certifications.
    • Quality and environmental regulation experience (e.g., ISO 9001, 13485, 14001, FDA).
    • Familiarity with project management techniques.
    • Handling low-volume, high-complexity automation and maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) procurement.
    • Knowledge of sustainable supply chain practices.
