    POSITION SUMMARY


    This position is a full-time, 12-month, benefited position under the dual supervision of the Vice President for Student Affairs and the Director of Admissions.

    The employee serves as the head coach of the State Tech Sports Shooting program and complies with ACUI/SCTP rules, regulations, and policies.

    The employee must be committed to promoting academic and athletic achievement in a way that is fully aligned with the mission of State Technical College of Missouri.


    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
    To perform this position successfully, employee must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily.

    The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:


    • Recruit and retain students for the Sports Shooting program.
    • Collaborate with other on-campus departments including, but not limited to, the office of Admissions, Marketing, Osage View leadership, Student Affairs, and Academic Affairs.
    • Initiate and execute a practice schedule, schedule & run competitions, and develop team building activities.
    • Provide guidance and input on games selected for varsity and non-varsity competitions.
    • Offer regular feedback on equipment upgrades, updates, and maintenance.
    • Coordinate off-season activity, practice schedules, and competition schedules.
    • Organize team travel when required.
    • Conduct campus, clinics, and promotional activities to help market the program to potential students, donors, and friends of the college.
    • Monitor and mentor, the academic and mental well-being of players.
    • Pursue sponsorship opportunities in coordination with the office of External Relations
    • Review agreements, deadlines, rules, and compliance with associated leagues and affiliates.
    • Ensure all persons associated with the program exemplify the character and mission of the college.
    • Recruit State Tech graduates.
    • Present information and materials about State Tech and careers at conferences, career fairs, college day, night programs and classes to prospective students and parents. Extensive travel required. Work hours can include evenings and occasional weekends.
    • Schedule and visit schools and provide information concerning State Tech and career information.
    • Schedule and provide tours for prospective students, parents, and high school groups on the State Tech campus, exposing them to knowledge of State Tech financial aid opportunities, career opportunities, placement, and other general career information.
    • Provide follow-up information through mail, telephone, and e-mail.
    • Assist Marketing team.
    • Perform other related duties as needed or assigned.
    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)


    This position requires a Bachelor's degree; however, an Associate of Applied Science degree in the area of business/office management with five or more years related experience or graduation from an accredited high school with seven or more years of related experience may substitute.

    This position requires work experience in the following areas:
    five or more years related experience.
