Senior MEP Project Manager Job Description

We are looking for a Senior MEP Project Manager to work with our team and manage construction projects for a key technology client portfolio initiative.

The role will be responsible for managing the project from startup to completion, including design phase, construction phase, commissioning and close out.

Minimum 8 years' experience managing projects as an Owner's Rep., General Contractor or Architect/Engineer
Technical capabilities would mainly center around an ability to forecast methods of procedures to complete construction projects
Interfacing with the client and other consultants at all project stages
Financial management – Ensuring prompt client invoicing and utilizing the financial system to monitor a project's financial status
Project planning, including producing detailed project plans
Must be personable and display a go-getter attitude with an inherent ability to work independently with urgency
Day-to-day activities include assisting the project team with minor projects within the client portfolio
Monitoring and applying performance management techniques
Managing the change control process
Managing the flow of project information between the team and the client
Preparing formal project budget progress and other reports
Quality Control – Ensuring compliance with quality standards
Assisting in research related to construction market conditions
Working to construct proposals for new work or variations for existing projects
Identifying opportunities to improve Project Management procedures, templates and products
Knowledge management – Ensuring that key information and learning generated from each commission is inputted into internal databases and shared
Process improvement – Identifying and acting upon ways to improve internal systems and processes referring ideas to the appropriate line manager
Identifying ways in which project management products and services can be improved
Identifying and ensuring that the client and management are aware of quality, safety, health and environment issues
Establishing effective project governance, processes and systems to be utilized throughout project

Qualifications

Advising at a strategic level at the project conception stage, including providing advice on different approaches to successfully achieve the client's overall objectives
Projects are managed to the right quality standards and are completed efficiently and on time
Strong relationships are developed with clients and cross-functional team members
Work as an effective team member within the context of delivering a specific commission
Business development opportunities with existing and new clients, including cross-selling opportunities, are identified

Education/Experience

Background in construction, client rep PM or engineering background with a minimum of 8 years' experience
University degree and/or PMP certification, preferably in a field related to construction
Experienced managing multiple stakeholders and work stream managers
Ability to be highly effective in a client facing role
Experience delivering high tech and manufacturing projects
