    Description
    This position is a Quality Manager role at a leading manufacturer of carbon electrodes used in the steel industry. Wonderful location near Charleston, SC.     Key Accountabilities:

    • Perform all duties in a professional, legal and ethical manner and in accordance with the company Code of Conduct.
    • Conduct all work activities in a manner to assure safety while maintaining acute awareness of safety and loss control goals for the plant and its colleagues.
    • Maintain an acute awareness in all process areas of responsibility to ensure that we adhere strictly to and maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements for air, water, waste disposal and SDKC Quality / Environmental Management System standards.
    • Implement and monitor progress on productivity and cost improvement programs to enhance profitability as needed.
    • Conduct process engineer's performance reviews of direct reports as per the company guideline. Quality Management (QM) :
    • Develop implement and improve effective Quality Control Methods and Procedures necessary to support ISO Quality System.
    • Improve involvements in activities with regards to ISO audits of our facilities to ensure conformance to requirements as required.
    • Coordinate audits of our facility as outlined within the Quality Management System in support of the applicable ISO Standards.
    • Maintain a centralized QEMS including the management of documentation in an electronic media and assess and upgrade the document management system on an as needed basis.
    • Deploy effective internal audits that enable continuous Kaizen and optimize plant site operations Raw material management for technical issue:
    • Conduct routine quality surveys and audits, as necessary, of our quality critical raw materials suppliers to ensure that these vendors maintain effective quality assurance that are sufficient and appropriate for providing the high quality and consistency needed to support our business not only locally but also globally

    Laboratory :

    • Manage and coordinate activities of the process laboratory and laboratory colleagues.
    • Conduct Lab work activities maintaining acute awareness of safety. Ensure proper PPE and laboratory safety practices are followed.
    • Stay current in ASTM testing procedures as they relate to our industry and provide technical assistance, as necessary, in the operations of the laboratory as dictated by prevailing management system and business requirements. QualificationsBachelors or Master of Science Degree in Engineering/Technical/Science field10 years of relevant experience in QA/QMExperience in statistical analysisKnowledge of ISO 9001 Standards
