    Description
    Our client is seeking a Senior Fire Protection Engineer to lead a team in their Tustin, CA office.

    They are a fire protection and structural engineering consulting firm that specializes in fire and building code compliance, systems design, and forensic services.

    This is a leadership position for an experienced candidate who can perform their own work, in addition to managing a small team of engineers in a player/coach capacity.

    Along with a strong technical background, they are looking for a highly motivated individual who can drive results. They are a small company that services a diverse client base, with a broad range of FPE services.

    The right candidate will be comfortable in a fast-paced working environment and have the ability to identify issues and formulate solutions.

    Responsibilities

    Perform fire protection engineering services such as life safety code consulting, hazardous material analysis for code compliances, system design, performance-based fire engineering design
    Provide resolution for design problems that may include performing field investigations or inspections, detailed design work, and detailed checking of design computations done by others, or general coordination of specific design aspects into a project
    Manage a small team of engineers - including work review and revisions, time tracking and project planning
    Develop plans, specifications, and inspection reports as needed
    Be a senior liaison between the internal team and clients coordinating project requirements and deliverables
    Track record of maintaining existing and creating new client relationships

    Qualifications

    Licensed Fire Protection Engineer (CA license required)
    10+ years of experience in Building Code and Fire Protection Consulting
    Bachelor's Degree in Fire Protection Engineering or in a similar related field, or equivalent
    Advanced knowledge of NFPA standards and model codes (e.g. ICC codes) related to building fire safety
    Advanced knowledge in hazardous materials evaluation for code compliance
    Experiences with fire suppression systems and smoke control systems
    Experience with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and Revit
    Experience managing small teams across multiple projects, hitting deliverables and deadlines within budget requirements
    California project experience required
    BESS project experience a plus
    Excellent client communication and presentation skills
