    This position is responsible for performing landscaping and related services required to maintain safe and attractive grounds.

    EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS INCLUDE (Other Duties May Be Assigned)

    • Collects and discards litter or other waste materials.
    • Cuts lawn using hand, power, or riding mower; trims and edges around walks, flower beds, walls, etc.
    • Sprays lawns, trees, and shrubs with fertilizers and insecticides.
    • Removes snow and ice from building walkways and steps; may rake leaves; clean and sweep litter.
    • May perform minor repairs and maintenance procedures on equipment utilized in groundskeeping.
    • May perform routine laboring and maintenance duties when groundskeeping work has been completed.
    • Perform any reasonable request made by your supervisor or any other Manager.
    • Meet attendance and variance guidelines of the job and adhere to regulatory, department and company policies.
    • Keep the work area clean and free of safety hazards, debris, and litter.
    • Operate a variety of maintenance equipment such as shovels, rakes, or saws to complete assignments.
    • Operates power equipment and other vehicles, such as mowers.
    • Maintains sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, or other features; performs general cleaning and snow removal.
    • Grounds-related work such as landscaping and snow removal.
    • May assist with the setup and tear down of events in the Convention center.
    • Assure each day's activities are communicated to the other shifts and maintenance leadership.
    • Use the Lockout/Tagout system after performing any maintenance work.
    • Follow all safety and security policies and procedures.
    • Report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries.
    • Complete safety training and certifications.
    • Ensure uniform and personal appearances are clean and professional.
    • Adhere to quality expectations and service standards.
    • Maintain a positive working relationship with others and support the team to reach common goals.
    • More difficult or skilled work may be performed under the direct supervision of a Facilities Manager or Supervisor.
    • Must be 18 years of age or older.
    • Must be able to drive company Vehicles.
    • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    • Must be able to effectively communicate in English.
    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
    • Working knowledge of common tools and equipment used in maintenance work; grounds maintenance methods and techniques; trees, plants, flowers, and shrubs; operation and maintenance of tools and equipment used in maintenance; basic safety precautions and procedures; the materials, tools, and methods used in general building repair and maintenance; use of hand and power tools.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

    All Employees must be knowledgeable of all Company policies and procedures, including fire and safety regulations.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE - High School Diploma or GED preferred.

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS - A valid driver's license is required.
