    Primary Responsibilities

    In the role of Structural Engineer, we'll count on you to:
    • Perform structural analysis and detailed design of concrete, steel, aluminum, and masonry structural systems and foundations for buildings and water, wastewater, power, public works, and other infrastructure projects.
    • Complete, check, and coordinate structural calculations and contract documents.
    • Write and edit structural specifications.
    • Review structural documents for completion and conflicts with other engineering disciplines.
    • Coordinate the work of structural design teams through design development and construction phases of a project.
    • Guide and assist structural engineering interns on project teams.
    • Manage workload and budget for structural projects.
    • Perform and report results of structural condition assessments of existing facilities.
    • Perform field inspections of construction projects and assist with preparation of addenda, RFI responses, and change orders.
    • Evaluate geotechnical report findings for civil and structural design work.Select and design appropriate foundation systems.
    • Meet with clients, owners, operators, and governing agencies to determine structural requirements.
    • Participate in work-sharing and structural practice development with a nation-wide network of HDR structural engineers.

    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, or bachelor's degree in Architectural Engineering with Structural emphasis.
    • 5 years structural engineering experience with an engineering or architectural/engineering consulting firm.
    • PE or SE registration.
    • Experience with structural analysis software and Microsoft Office. Revit Structural experience beneficial.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or BS degree in Architectural Engineering Structural emphasis
