    Job Responsibilities

    With our Agency's mission to support the recovery of people with mental illnesses, we provide a complete array of medical and support services for children, adults, and families throughout South Carolina.

    This position is located at the Department of Mental Health, Catawba Community Mental Health Center (CCMHC), Catawba Family Center, 448 Lakeshore Parkway, NorthLake II, Rock Hill, SC 29730

    Under limited supervision of the Executive Director, you will coordinate all Medical Services ensuring adequate coverage and quality of care; work together with clinical and administrative staff at the Center and Departmental level to assure that clinical services are of the highest quality and are available according to appropriate priority of need; provides psychiatric evaluation and treatment services for clients.

    Responsibilities for the Chief of Psych. Services CMHS / Medical Director includes but are not limited to:
    • Evaluates need for, plans and provides psychiatric treatment for outpatient and emergency services during normal work week.
    • Consults and collaborates with staff in formal, as well as, informal clinical settings. Assists Clinical Services Directors in assuring that clinical staff receive appropriate clinical supervision.
    • Supervises and evaluates the work of all physicians, thereby assuring the Executive Director of the quality of professional services provided, and that physicians are functioning within the scope of the medical staff by-laws; manage Physician Peer Review Process; all EPMS will be completed in an accurate, objective, timely & constructive manner.
    Minimum and Additional Requirements

    State Minimum Requirements:
    Licensed to practice medicine in SC. Completion required residency in psych. & 3yrs exp. in psychiatric programs 2 years of which must have been in Community MH Services. Board Certification in psychiatry required.
    Preferred Qualifications

    Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.
