- Prepare drawings, material lists, and specifications for designated substation, transmission, protection, and communications systems under the supervision of Power System Design engineers.
- Generate necessary documentation and perform field measurements and calculations for joint utilization of transmission and communications infrastructure.
- Create wiring diagrams from schematic drawings and established standards.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure engineering records align with field conditions.
- Review engineering prints for quality control under the direction of Power System Design engineers.
- Aid in right of way and property procurement for electric facilities construction.
- Develop and maintain 3D substation models, line models, and fabrication drawings to assist Power System Design engineers.
- Establish and update drafting standards.
- Manage drawings and design documents, converting field markups to create as-built records.
- Estimate project costs based on defined scopes and design standards.
- Foster internal and external collaboration by maintaining effective communication channels with various departments and utilities.
- Perform assigned additional duties.
- Associate's Degree in Applied Sciences, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of two years with increasing technical responsibilities in substation or transmission design or construction. Consideration given to entry-level engineers.
