- Key Qualifications:
- Masters Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Education or a related field
- Minimum of three years experience working with children and grief
- LMHC or LCSW preferred
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
- Professional experience in counseling and/or work with children, adolescents and families
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Ability to lift, push, pull twenty five (25) pounds without difficulty
- Good audio and visual acuity
- Ability to work day, evening, and weekend hours
- Maintain reliable, insured transportation
- Able to work in various facility and home environments
- Plans, manages, and implements continuum of care for children and families seeking bereavement services through Child Grief, including intake, services and closure procedures
- Develop, manage, and implement child and adult support groups to meet the needs of grieving children, families, and the community
- Prepare materials, curriculum and activities to facilitate developmentally appropriate grief support groups
- Under the oversight of the Volunteer Manager, train, and supervise all Child Grief volunteers
- Provide support to active St. Francis Reflections (SFR) hospice patients and families in need of pre or post bereavement services as identified by the interdisciplinary team (IDT); accurately documenting services in SFR designated electronic record
- Maintain accurate and quality documentation of bereavement activities within specified time frames in SFR designated electronic record
- Provide education to staff on topics related to grief and bereavement, including assistance with new employee and volunteer orientation
- Organize and facilitate memorial services and bereavement special programs for Child Grief clients
- Schedule and organize fun seasonal events for bereaved children and their caregivers (i.e Trunk or Treat, Holiday Celebrations)
- Support organizational training/clinical consultation regarding children's grief issues
- Responsible for knowledge in all areas of theories of grief and loss, appropriate grief interventions, crisis interventions, group dynamics, and systems theories
- Assists with the writing and updating of policies, procedures, informational brochures and public information press releases, as needed
- Follow established SFR policies, procedures, and health and safety guidelines

The Child Grief Coordinator is a key role responsible for providing comprehensive grief support services to children and families served by St. Francis Reflections Hospice.
Key responsibilities include planning, managing, and implementing a continuum of care for children and families seeking bereavement services, as well as developing and managing child and adult support groups.
Additional responsibilities include preparing materials and activities for grief support groups, training and supervising volunteers, and providing education to staff on topics related to grief and bereavement.
This role requires professional clinical experience with children and adults, as well as the ability to work independently and in an interdisciplinary environment.
