    Summary

    You will serve as a medical professional to evaluate and provide a clear, comprehensive, and concise review of Veterans Affairs (VA) Compensation and Pension Disability claims. You will not decide the percent of disability or rating, develop treatment plans, or prescribe medication. You will send completed documentation to the VA for final determination on all disability claims.

    Nurse Practitioner

    Key Roles

    • Collaborates with the Clinic Manager to develop an effective quality monitoring program
    • Provides QA training to all clinic staff to ensure quality actions are incorporated into their daily practice
    • Collects data related to assessments and assessment outcomes
    • Examines cases at random for completeness, accuracy and consistency
    • Examines data for outliers and researches such cases
    • Develops and completes reports that track activities and outcomes
    • Acts as an advisor to program staff on all QA and Compliance issues related to the IPP program
    • Practice with a multi-disciplinary team of heath care providers
    • "Quality vs. Quantity Model" – Typically see 14 to 16 patients per day
    • Performs other duties as may be assigned

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Certification through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), or the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
    • Valid DEA license or the ability to obtain one prior to employment
    • 1+ year of clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Comfortable managing a primarily Medicare-aged patient population

    Physician Assistant

    Key Roles

    • Assist nurses and other applicable staff in processing for transactional tasks to include, but not limited to, assessments and examinations
    • Administer hearing tests, PFTs, vision tests, patient check-ins and vital signs
    • Some duties may include medical transcriptions
    • Maintain patient records through electronic medical records (EMR) documentation
    • Work independently as needed to achieve day-to-day objectives
    • Coordinate with other medical staff as needed and communicate with internal and customer team members
    • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

    Basic Qualifications

    • Ability to read, write, and analyze/evaluate charts
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Detail oriented
    • Bachelor's Degree
    • Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant License required
    • 3+ years of applicable experience
