    Description
    The Director of Procurement leads a multi-site purchasing organization in all aspects of procurement, including direct and indirect materials, services, capital equipment, and expansion projects. This role is responsible for developing and managing commodity strategies, negotiating supply contracts, and ensuring supplier performance across key categories such as chemicals, packaging, filters, and maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO). The position focuses on strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, spend analysis, cost reduction, supply assurance, and optimizing value while maintaining quality, cost efficiency, delivery timelines, and service levels. Collaboration with Finance, Quality, Manufacturing, Supplier Quality Engineering, R&D, and Facilities is essential to drive problem-solving, risk mitigation, and new product development strategies.

    Key responsibilities:
    • Leading price negotiations with expertise, developing and implementing pricing strategies, and mitigating cost increases through proactive market analysis and collaboration with business stakeholders.
    • Managing major procurement projects, bids, global negotiations, and agreements for chemicals, packaging, filters, services, contractors, equipment, and facility expansions in partnership with Engineering.
    • Engaging with senior executives at supplier organizations to support key initiatives, investments, and global challenges.
    • Negotiating supplier contracts to ensure cost competitiveness and risk mitigation.
    • Partnering with Business Management, Supplier Quality, Planning, Operations, and suppliers to enhance quality, improve inventory management, and drive supplier performance.
    • Collaborating with Facilities & Maintenance teams on capital expenditure projects and service agreements, overseeing RFI/RFP processes, comparative analysis, recommendations, and contract execution.
    • Acting as a project manager for cross-functional teams to align strategic objectives with commercial goals and supply assurance, addressing industry challenges such as supply chain disruptions and freight conflicts.
    • Managing all strategic and tactical sourcing activities, site purchasing operations, and supplier engagement, ensuring continuous improvement in supplier performance ratings.
    • Serving as a liaison between procurement and business units, ensuring strategic alignment and communication.
    • Establishing, tracking, and reporting procurement KPIs, including cost reductions and supplier performance metrics.
    • Overseeing procurement budgeting, purchase price variance (PPV), and collaborating with stakeholders to develop cost-effective purchasing strategies in line with financial goals.
    • Leading, mentoring, and developing the procurement team while fostering a culture of open communication, empowerment, recognition, and workplace safety.
    • Developing and recommending standard operating procedures (SOPs), policies, and programs to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
    • Driving early-stage R&D collaboration to identify and engage suppliers with scalable capabilities and competitive pricing structures.
    • Managing third-party manufacturing relationships to ensure raw material supply, production efficiency, and industry best practices.
    Requirements:
    • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Business Management, or Supply Chain Management, with relevant experience in chemical procurement. A Master's degree is preferred.
    • Minimum of 10 years of progressive management experience in semiconductor or chemical manufacturing environments.
    • Proven experience as a Procurement Manager, Director, or Head of Procurement.
    • Extensive sourcing experience with domestic and international suppliers, including vendor certification, consignment agreements, and contract negotiation.
    • 1-3 years of budget management experience.
    • Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
    • Proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), and other relevant software applications.
    • Demonstrated ability to develop procurement procedures, negotiation strategies, and supplier relationships.
    • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to resolve challenges independently.
    • Strong multitasking skills and the ability to manage deadlines effectively.
    • Commitment to teamwork, integrity, and accuracy.
    • Ability to travel to supplier locations and other company sites as needed.
    • This position requires candidates to successfully pass a post-offer drug screening. The role also requires the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
