Department: Additional Information: The medical lab technologist in the Testing department is responsible for specimen processing, test request entry, order verification and correction, and conducting all clinical lab testing in Microbiology. Duties include interpreting smears and cultures, conducting identification and susceptibility tests, specialized testing in AFB, mycology, virology, parasitology, and/or molecular methods, as well as quality control, continuous quality improvement, inventory control, professional development, training, and continuing education.
Minimum Education Required: 2-Year College Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Qualifications: Associate's degree in Medical Technology/Med Lab Science or a biological science degree, with MT/MLS certification. If not certified, the applicant must obtain MLS certification within 1 year of hire, with the first board of certification test attempt within the initial six months of hire.

Scheduled Hours: 40
Shift: Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check. A drug screen or physical examination may be required during the post-offer process.
