- Drills, taps, or reams holes, using drill press or portable drill per print specification.
- Aligns components and bolts, screws, or rivets them together using hand tools or portable powered tools.
- Installs moving parts, such as shafts, levers, or bearings.
- Verifies alignment and tolerances of moving parts, using measuring instruments.
- Removes small quantities of metal, using hand files or portable grinders, to clean parts or to produce close fit between parts.
- Bend and install pipe for hydraulic systems.
- May install wiring and electrical components to specifications.
- Align and mesh gears in gearbox to assemble system of gears.
- Test or assist in testing operation of completed product.
- Complete accurate documentation as required.
- Keep work area neat and organized.
- Operate forklift in a safe manner.
- High school diploma or equivalency.
- Minimum one year of related machine building experience.
- Knowledge of machines and tools, uses, repairs and maintenance required.
- Knowledge of raw materials being used is desired.
- Experience with SAP in an operation-distribution/manufacturing functionality, highly preferred.
- Highly proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with MS Project, SolidWorks, a plus
- Strong organization, time management, problem solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Able to troubleshoot problems quickly and thoroughly, make decisions under pressure, and maintain the ability to be tactful in all situations.
- Exhibit high attention to detail.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, bill of materials, and schematics.
