The Position

Management Analysts conduct a variety of studies, research and analysis of management and administrative areas such as budgeting and financial analysis; departmental operations; legislative analysis; management research; and statistical and informational analysis.

Incumbents function as first-line supervisors who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; assign and review work; and initiate disciplinary action.

The Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) announces an opportunity to join a customer-centric, service-delivery organization focused on providing quality technology solutions for Nevada state agencies.

The Management Analyst 3 position works closely with the OCIO leadership to develop, review, monitor, and lead the OCIO biennium budget build process for an 'internal service fund' organization; review and provide legislative related analysis as it applies to OCIO operations; assist in preparing and administrating OCIO contracts, requests for proposals, and other fiscal development and monitoring related tasks as required.

Additionally, the Management Analyst 3 provides research and analysis in support of management and departmental operations including preparation of reports, development of presentations, identifying and compiling agency metrics and studying technology industry trends.

The incumbent will conduct studies and make recommendations to senior leadership regarding administrative policy and legislative and budgetary issues.

This critical and highly valued position within the OCIO is especially suited for a tech knowledgeable/well-informed person with a strong work ethic and the ability to be self-directed.

Heavy use of Microsoft Office word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and collaboration tools is a part of the position.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, finance, social sciences, mathematics or related field and three years of professional experience in the research, development, evaluation or revision of programs, organizations, methods or procedures; OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, finance, social sciences, mathematics or related field and three years of professional experience which included budgeting, accounting, and/or economic or management analysis and projections; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education and five years of professional experience as described above; OR one year of experience as a Management Analyst II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.

This position requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.

This position requires a State of Nevada/FBI fingerprint-based background check as a condition of appointment and as condition of continuing employment.
