    GENERAL FUNCTIONS:
    This position will be responsible for designing and maintaining the data operations across multiple platforms, primarily Microsoft SQL. Tasked with the design and maintenance of the TruHome Data Warehouse that supports ETL processes, business analytics, and reporting. The Data Architect collaborates with Business Intelligence and IT to support business objectives on a continuous basis.

    PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    • Lead strategic oversight of all data assets including the TruHome Data Warehouse.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders and vendors to translate business requirements into technical specifications, including integrations, transformations, databases, and data warehouses. Help scope project work, establish deadlines, and track progress.
    • Defines and manages the data architecture framework, standards, and principals-including modeling, metadata, security, and reference data.
    • Create and maintain varying forms of ETL implementations which include SSIS packages. Manage and optimize daily data warehouse refresh schedules.
    • Develop and maintain appropriate departmental procedures to document processes, data models and data retention policies.
    • Proactive monitoring of database usage regarding health, performance, availability, and utilization.
    • Observe the highest level of confidentiality and a "data security first" approach to all management and development activity.
    • Occasional after-hours availability as needed to support projects, maintenance tasks, and escalations.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    • Experienced in Microsoft SQL Server Business Intelligence features - SSIS, SSRS/Power BI Reporting Server, and SSAS.
    • Skilled in Data Warehousing methodologies (Normalization Forms, ODS, SCD, Data Marts) and cloud-based technologies such as Azure SQL.
    • Ability to map, understand, and document complex data relationships.
    • Skilled in Visual Studio with the use of source control applications such as DevOps.
    • Skilled technical troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
    • Self-starter with the ability to define clear objectives, collect appropriate information, and develop action plans.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills to include oral and written communications.
    • Ability to work independently without close supervision.
    • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

    PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
    In this position, individual will be expected to lift up to 20 pounds from time to time. Also, must be able to stoop, bend, reach, or stand for extended periods of time. Must be able to sit and use a computer for extended periods of time.

    WORKING CONDITIONS:


    This position is expected to work in general office environment and may have to travel for visits to other facilities or for training and support purposes.

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

    • Bachelor's degree in data science, Information Technology or related field, or equivalent experience.
    • Experience with installing and maintaining SQL Server environments.
    • Data modeling and SQL query design and execution experience required, preferably in a financial services setting.
    • Experience with Transparent Data Encryption and Always Encrypted security protocols.
    • Experience with SCD2 Data warehousing methodology.
    • Excellent multitasking skills and task management strategies.
