    About the Role


    The Press Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting systems and performing preventive and predictive maintenance on various equipment, while always keeping safety as a priority. Maintain, troubleshoot, and provide continuous improvement suggestions resulting in minimal downtime of manufacturing equipment in the assembly area. Support installation and modification of equipment to ensure quality control requirements are met and process enhancements are realized.

    Your Responsibilities


    1. Know and understand Bowling Green Metalforming Quality and Environmental policies.
    2. Follows and supports and Magna's operating principles, including:
      1. Magna Employee Charter – Operating under its principles by treating all team members equally, fairly and with dignity and respect.
      2. Abide by BGM policies and procedures as described in the most current version of the Team Member Handbook.
      3. Open Door Policy – Solves issues with two-way, open and friendly communication.

      5. Safety First - Obey the plant's safety rules and procedures by wearing PPE at all times and immediately addressing all safety concerns. Promotes an environment where zero injuries are the expected standard.

      7. Core values – Treat all team members equally, fairly, with dignity and respect without favoritism in accordance with company values.
      8. Attend and participate in Team, Department, Plant-wide and any other meetings as required.
      9. Conduct all activities in a professional manner and positive attitude with an emphasis on personal responsibility.
    3. Troubleshooting, diagnosis and repair of various manufacturing equipment
    4. Maintain integrity of safety devices including light curtains, safety gates, barriers, etc.
    5. Assist in design and installation of new/improved manufacturing equipment, components, and processes
    6. Make modifications to existing equipment as required
    7. Assist in determining spare parts requirements
    8. Maintain accurate documentation
    9. Train operators and new team members on fixtures, control panels, etc.
    10. Assist team members with running lines/presses
    11. Provide support for machine improvements
    12. Ensure equipment meets NEC, OSHA, and Magna regulations
    13. Perform PM inspections as required, complete with all repairs
    14. Minimize downtime by effective use of resources including response time, technical expertise, tools, spare parts and external contacts
    15. Ability to troubleshoot electrical issues- circuits, fuses, wiring, etc.
    16. Ability to read blue prints, and hydraulic prints.
    17. Perform other duties as required.

    Who we are looking for


    Education and/or Experience:

    • High School Diploma or GED required; 2-year degree from a technical college or minimum of five years on-the-job training with heavy industrial manufacturing facility in skilled trade capacity.
    • General knowledge of industrial maintenance with an emphasis on electrical, mechanical or controls application preferred

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel preferred
    • Minimum of 1-year experience in a stamping manufacturing environment preferred
    • Ability to troubleshoot and repair hydraulic equipment, pumps
    • Motor Control, PLC, and Ladder Logic proficiency
    • Basic Electrical Theory
    • Basic knowledge of electrical components
    • Basic understanding of services and variable frequency drives
    • Welding experience
    • Must have good mathematical and communication
    • Ability to read and understand schematics
    • Ability to use testing and troubleshooting equipment
    • Must have a good understanding of rigging, cranes, etc.
    • Must be able to pay good attention to detail
    • Must have a basic knowledge of drafting (blueprint reading, dimension drawings, etc.)
    • Basic knowledge of AUTOCAD

    Your preferred qualifications

    • Maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
    • Must have a general knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
    • Must be able to work extended hours as needed to meet customer requirements
    • Ability to pass mechanical aptitude test
