    Job Description

    We are seeking an Infrastructure Support Engineer to troubleshoot enterprise network issues and ensure continuity of service for customers across all Military Treatment Facilities (MTFs) in the Defense Health Agency (DHA) Enterprise worldwide.

    This is a 100% remote position.

    Responsibilities:

    • Evaluate circumstances, identify root causes, and develop a plan for resolution.
    • Provide tier III help desk support for all tenants in the DHA network.
    • Triage issues and resolve or assign them to the appropriate network teams for remediation.
    • Support all MTFs in the DHA Enterprise and be responsible for troubleshooting issues with network devices.
    • Engage with customers on a daily basis.
    • Engage with internal and external customers to provide solutions to network issues.
    • Troubleshoot issues with various network devices and protocols.
    • Work in a team setting and make recommendations related to troubleshooting, device configuration, and documentation.
    • Document projects, support actions, and other administrative artifacts as reference material for related support activities and management staff.
    • Ensure incidents and service requests adhere to established service level agreements.
    • Understand complex networks and utilize the latest practices and principles to resolve issues.

    Requirements

    • A minimum of a Department of Defense (DoD) Active Secret level Security Clearance.
    • 6+ years of relevant experience in supporting a large network infrastructure.
    • A strong knowledge of Routers, Switches, Firewalls, and Virtual Private Network devices.
    • A good understanding of TCP/IP regarding routing and subnetting.
    • Experience with the following Network protocols and services:
      • Routing Protocols (OSPF, BGP)
      • Access Control Lists
      • Layer 2 Switching
      • Spanning Tree
      • Packet Analysis
    • Experience with the following is a plus:
      • Cisco Switch 4500X
      • Cisco Switch 9000 Series
      • Palo Alto Firewall PA-5050
    • Other requirements:
      • A strong sense of urgency including self-governance on task priority.
      • Must be willing to work shifts to cover a 24x7 operational environment.

    Certifications

    • Security Certification (CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, or SCCP)

    Education

    • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or a related discipline is preferred.
