    Job Description

    Provides mammography procedures by applying prescribed ionizing radiation to patient in order to assist the radiologist with a radiologic diagnosis. Obtains breast history from patient and explains procedure. Prepares room and operates mammography equipment as outlined by American College of Radiology. Checks images for quality and visible abnormalities and transfers information to radiology as appropriate.

    Specific Responsibilities:

  • Must be a certified Mammographer
  • Must be current in CPR
  • Knowledge of word processing and other computer applications required
  • Knowledge of VMO or other forms of electronic medical records
  • Requirements

    Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required
  • Junior College/Technical School/Business School is required
  • ARRT Certification in Radiography is required
  • ARRT Certification in Mammography is required
  • WV Medical Imaging License is required
  • Experience :

  • Minimum of 2 to 5 years of Position-related experience
  • The kind of position-related experience includes:

    Graduate of an approved School of Radiologic Technology. Must be a certified Mammographer and have a minimum of two years mammography experience. Must be able to think clearly and use critical thinking skills.
