    Join us to bring positive change to the community Seeking clinicians (LMHP or LMHP-E) to provide Dialectical Behavior Therapy as part of our DBT team. The New River Valley Community Services DBT team delivers evidenced based care inclusive of therapy, case management, and mental health skill building. NRVCS supports DBT with regular professional consultation and fluid coordination of comprehensive services. The team has the honor of aiding often underserved consumers through development of emotion regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal skill training. Our team helps people change their lives through innovative, and supportive care.

    DBT Clinician I:

    Starting Salary: $46,015--Depending on Experience

    DBT Clinician II:

    Starting Salary: $55,683--Depending on Experience

    Qualifications
    • Knowledge of best practice treatments for mental health, substance use, intellectual and developmental disability, and co-occurring disorders.
    • Thorough knowledge of DSM-V etiology, symptoms, treatment, and prognoses.
    • Knowledge of and ability to administer various treatments and therapeutic modalities as appropriate and/or prescribed.
    • Basic knowledge of agency, local, state, and federal regulations; Medicaid guidelines; standards for clinical services; and related human rights, ethical, and legal concerns.
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear and concise manner.
    • Basic working knowledge of pertinent medical, legal, and financial terminology; and psychopharmacology.
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team; think critically and problem solve effectively; and recognize and respond to crises appropriately.
    • Must possess a valid driver's license (state of Virginia, unless otherwise approved by agency) with an acceptable driving record. Must maintain acceptable record throughout employment.
    • Must have an acceptable criminal history background and child protective services check upon hire and maintained throughout employment;
    • Must have acceptable drug screen results upon hire.

    Education/Experience Required:

    DBT Clinician I:
    • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or other license-eligible human services field required.
    • Required to register and become licensed-eligible within 3 months of hire, with the Virginia Board of Counseling.

    DBT Clinician II:
    • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or other license-eligible human services field required.
    • State of Virginia license required in social work, psychology, marriage and family or other related field.
