    Description

    The Ochsner Department of Urology and the Ochsner Childrens Hospital in New Orleans is seeking a Section Head of Pediatric Urology as well as junior faculty to join our U.S. News & World Report ranked #1 Childrens Hospital in Louisiana.

    New members of our department will be joining three other pediatric urologists who are part of a high-functioning, rapidly growing tertiary/quaternary Pediatrics Program and Childrens Hospital. They would be joining a large Urology department with 31 employed Urologists and 12 APPs.

    Our comprehensive Pediatrics Program including primary care pediatricians and pediatric medical and surgical subspecialists (Ochsner Childrens) represents over 230 physicians. The group is the regions leading integrated provider of multispecialty care for newborns, infants, children, adolescents, and young adults. We offer a full range of pediatric services including congenital heart surgery and cardiac transplantation, liver and bone marrow transplantation, a comprehensive surgical sub-specialty group, and the regions only comprehensive multidisciplinary developmental center.

    We recently announced the building of a new separate, comprehensive, dedicated Childrens Hospital on our main campus, with expected opening in 2027.

    We currently care for patients in an expanding 54-bed Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, a 14-bed PICU, a 12-bed pediatric CV-ICU, and a 44-bed pediatric acute unit, with a dedicated pediatric emergency room, and full-time, region-wide in-house pediatric and neonatal transport teams.

    In addition to patient care, our faculty are involved in teaching residents in the Ochsner Urology residency program as well as medical students from the University of Queensland. Ochsner Health and Xavier University of Louisiana recently announced an agreement to establish a joint College of Medicine.
