    Description


    The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the general upkeep and maintenance of all campus buildings and grounds, ensuring a safe and functional environment for the university community.

    JOB COMPONENTS/PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Conduct general maintenance work and repairs to buildings and grounds.
    Perform carpentry, drywall, and painting tasks as necessary.
    Handle plumbing and electrical maintenance tasks with attention to safety and efficiency.
    Operate heavy machinery such as Bobcats, Holders, and lifts, ensuring proper safety protocols are followed.
    Assist with snow removal using shovels, snow blowers, or plows during inclement weather conditions.
    Be flexible to work nights or weekends as required to meet operational needs.
    Be available on-call to promptly respond to emergency maintenance requests.
    Perform any other duties as assigned or delegated by the Maintenance Manager.
    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (requested/required):

    Ability to lift at least 50lbs and perform physical tasks as needed.
    Proficiency in the maintenance and repair of small engines.
    Familiarity with various power tools and their safe operation.
    Demonstrated ability to work in a neat and timely manner, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization.

    Education and Experience:
    High school diploma or equivalent.
    5 or more years of relevant experience in maintenance roles, preferably in a campus or institutional setting.
