The company is currently adding a DevOps/Site Reliability Engineer to our team focused on our Retail Performance Engine platform and other customer facing websites.
The DevOps/Site Reliability engineer plays a key role deploying customer facing websites, coordinating with backend database changes, coordinating backend security patching, and serving as a technical expert for the Tier 2 and Tier 3 Support operations.
Your expertise will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and secure functioning of our web applications, contributing to the overall success of our organization.
Additionally, you will work collaboratively with our development teams who are developing over these systems.This position does not require the employee to be onsite full-time to perform the role most effectively. Occasional travel to Wilmington, NC or Raleigh, NC may be requested as well as to other functions as needed.
What you will be responsible for:
Deployment:
the deployment process of web applications and websites, ensuring seamless and efficient release cycles.
with development teams and business stakeholders to ensure on-time delivery of websites.
improve the process of website delivery.
continuous quality improvements reducing opportunities for error during site deployments.
Security Patching:
conjunction with our Security specialist, provide the CTO regular timelines on security patching progress.
regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and address potential weaknesses proactively.
Leadership for Operations:
guidance, support, and technical expertise to our Tier 3 and Tier 2 Support staff.
with cross-functional teams to streamline operations, enhance system stability, and optimize performance.
as the primary point of contact for technical operations-related issues and escalations.
Management and Troubleshooting:
with the CTO on any critical incidents and outages, participate in conducting root cause analysis and implementing preventive measures.
with the CTO, create and maintain incident response procedures to ensure rapid resolution of issues and minimal disruption to services.
and Process Improvement:
opportunities to automate repetitive tasks and streamline operations to enhance efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
assess and improve operational processes to ensure adherence to industry best practices.
Recovery and Business Continuity:
and maintain disaster recovery plans and procedures for web applications.

What you will need to have:5 years of experience with managing websites using IIS on virtual servers.
Bachelors degree or higher in Computers Science or Information Technology
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to lead a team effectively and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.
Experience in agile software development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) is preferred.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of conveying technical concepts to both technical and non-technical team members.
What would be nice for you to have:
Experience using Azure DevOps for tracking work.
Microsoft SQL or Oracle and PL/SQL Experience
Understanding of SQL queries
Experience with automation tools and scripting languages for process improvement and system monitoring.
Experience with cloud hosting, orchestrations, and deployment methods.
