- Partner with the AAWDC executive leadership team to develop and execute HR strategies and initiatives aligned with overall AAWDC business plans.
- Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture by promoting open communication, conflict resolution, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Oversee compensation and benefits programs to ensure competitiveness, compliance, and equity.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; recommend best practices to maintain compliance and minimize risk.
- Lead the HR team in managing the full cycle talent acquisition and performance management processes to ensure successful candidate and employee experiences.
- Develop and execute training and development programs that enhance employee development and ensure employee understanding of AAWDC policies and procedures.
- Provide direct supervision, mentorship and guidance to AAWDC HR team members.

- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- A minimum of five years prior human resource management experience preferred
- Prior HR experience in a non-profit or mission-oriented organization ideal
- In-depth knowledge of HR best practices, labor laws, and compliance
- Human Resources certification credentials (SHRM or HRCI) highly desired
- Experience with Paylocity or similar HRIS
- Outstanding communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively - writing, speaking, and listening - across all business levels
- Proven ability to learn and apply new technologies, systems, processes, and applications
- Strong project management skills
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and federal and state regulations
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

Human Resources Director.
In this newly established position, the Human Resources Director will cultivate a collaborative atmosphere, partnering with executive leaders to craft strategic organizational and HR strategies.
Simultaneously, they will lead the HR team in ensuring the adoption of industry best practices throughout the employee lifecycle, encompassing talent acquisition, performance management, employee relations, compensation and benefits administration, compliance, workforce culture and engagement.
FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
o Supports the Senior HR Generalist in managing the relationship with external brokers and benefits administrators to ensure effective administration of AAWDC's benefit and leave programs.
