    Summary

    The Cost Accountant will analyze, process, maintain, and report transactions primarily involving fixed assets, inventory, general ledger, and machine costing.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    • Planning, Studying, and collecting data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory and labor.
    • Accumulate and apply overhead costs as required by generally accepted accounting principles.
    • Analyzing actual manufacturing costs and preparing periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
    • Coordinate, process and analyze production data monthly from ERP SAP system.
    • Support person to assist planners with closing production orders.
    • Develop reporting machine costs quarterly cadence.
    • Work with Engineering/Product Management/Purchasing cost development new machines.
    • Manage Automation projects book/reconcile revenue recognition based on validation costs monthly.
    • Set up/maintain internal projects for new product initiatives.
    • Provide support Engineering to ensure labor hours are being booked to projects consistently and timely.
    • Calculate, enter, and post transactions to the SAP General Ledger.
    • Provide supporting schedules, reconciliations, and roll forward worksheets for various General Ledger Accounts.
    • Accounting cross functional team member for item master additions/changes.
    • Assist in the audit/reconciliation of the physical inventory with Operations.
    • Backup to the Senior Cost Accountant.
    • Assists with related special projects, as required.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and or Accounting.
    • Experience with SAP
    • Team player willing to assist others to work through issues to resolution.
    • 3-5 years related experience in cost accounting.
    • CMA designation desired.
    • MBA a plus.
    • Detail-oriented.
    • Strong computer proficiency.
    • Knowledge or experience in SAP is a plus required to have working experience with MS Office (Excel).
    • Good communication skills.
    • Ability to multi-task.
