    Job Responsibilities

    Limited supervision of the IT Manager, serves as a web developer with networking skills, and basic security knowledge to keep the website secure and free from malware.

    Performs designing, programming, and securing the website development based on the needs of the college.


    • Responsible for the operations of the website development, maintenance, and security as requested by the IT manager. Responsible for the installation, testing, and support of necessary hardware and software to develop the website. Identify customer support needs as requested via email, phone, or walk-ins ensuring resolution to issues. Performs server updates to ensure website sustainability.
    • Maintains protection against current threats as it relates to cyber-attacks by updating barracuda hardware with patches and mitigates College's exposure to such threats.
    • Assist with developing, revising, and implementing Systems Security Policies and Website Security Maintenance to ensure best security practices are implemented. Assists with new network infrastructure upgrades and removal of old network systems. Maintains secondary inventory assets for IT related equipment locations and assigned to faculty and staff.

    Responsible for good connectivity to the server that supplies the needs for student activities such as online classes, registration, and e-mail.


    • Provides college-wide support of smart technology as well as computer laptops used by students to connect to and use the website. Reporting problems with e-mail connectivity, and ability to get into D2L and BrightSpace back to other IT personnel so they may assist students with their needs. Responsible for the computer lab operations and devices to ensure coverage during lab hours. Supervisory duties of part time/college work study personnel.
    • Responsible for the operations of the IT Service Desk to identify customer support needs as requested. Performs TIER 1 and TIER II related help desk inquiries as requested by IT Manager and documents solutions

    Minimum and Additional Requirements

    A Bachelor's degree in information technology systems, computer science, or related field and experience in information technology systems or related area.

    Relevant experience may be substituted for bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.

    Preferred Qualifications
    Knowledge of Colleague, or ERP systems. Communications skills, the ability to work with various areas of the college.

    Must be self-motivated, have exceptional organizational skills, time management skills, and be able to manage multiple priorities while exercising sound judgement.
