    Summary

    • Position Summary
    • **Pay: $ $17.50 / hour ( mid-range) depending on experience
    • The schedule will vary week to week
    • This is a per diem, up to 16 hours week, retail position in a clinical setting. The ideal person will enjoy working with people and will be acutely aware of the confidentiality of patient information. The Clerk position involves standard retail functions; merchandising, selling, and overseeing cash operations.
    • Additionally, this person is responsible for working with a database of patient services. The Clerk works closely with volunteers, the Retail Shop Committee, and the Women's Board members in a manner that promotes the general operating policies, and the financial and quality objectives of the Women's Board and Maine Medical Center.
    • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)


    • Education: Associate's Degree preferred

    • License/Certifications: N/A

    • Experience: At least 2 years' experience in cash management and time sensitive financial reporting or relevant relatable retail experience.

    • Strong computer and cash register system (Point of Sale) skills.
    • Confident use of technology, database input.
    • Strong customer service and problem solving skills.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with volunteers, employees, co-workers, supervisors, hospital personnel at all levels, and members of the Women's Board.
    • Excellent organizational skills with ability to accomplish multiple tasks.
    • Excellent communication skills both in person and on the phone.
    • Ability to work sensitively with patients and families in stressful situations.
