Summary

Position Summary
**Pay: $ $17.50 / hour ( mid-range) depending on experience
The schedule will vary week to week
This is a per diem, up to 16 hours week, retail position in a clinical setting. The ideal person will enjoy working with people and will be acutely aware of the confidentiality of patient information. The Clerk position involves standard retail functions; merchandising, selling, and overseeing cash operations.
Additionally, this person is responsible for working with a database of patient services. The Clerk works closely with volunteers, the Retail Shop Committee, and the Women's Board members in a manner that promotes the general operating policies, and the financial and quality objectives of the Women's Board and Maine Medical Center.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Education: Associate's Degree preferred
License/Certifications: N/A
Experience: At least 2 years' experience in cash management and time sensitive financial reporting or relevant relatable retail experience.
Strong computer and cash register system (Point of Sale) skills.
Confident use of technology, database input.
Strong customer service and problem solving skills.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with volunteers, employees, co-workers, supervisors, hospital personnel at all levels, and members of the Women's Board.
Excellent organizational skills with ability to accomplish multiple tasks.
Excellent communication skills both in person and on the phone.
Ability to work sensitively with patients and families in stressful situations.
