    Summary

    The Senior Financial Accountant is one of three accounting roles reporting to the Senior Accounting Manager. The position requires the demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment and will work in a group responsible for financial statement preparation, monthly financial statement close and general ledger reconciliations, treasury activities, payroll and commission accounting and reporting, fixed asset accounting, lease accounting and various tax and other governmental filings.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    Responsible for a variety of financial statement closing activities including journal entries, account reconciliations, cost center expense analysis and SAP module reconciliations

    Preparation and verification of financial statements including divisional income statement, balance sheet and statement of cash flow and other financial analysis including customer and gross margin reporting utilizing Business Intelligence queries

    • function activities including preparation of cash forecasting model, quarterly goods receipts to invoice receipts analysis and resolution with accounts payable team, bank reconciliations, daily cash reporting, Swap and other derivative analysis and accounting, setup of electronic payment information within the Companys banking software, review and approval of bi-weekly payment runs and new vendor due diligence reviews *
    • and verification of state sale/use, franchise and excise tax filings, prepare and coordinate information for third party tax provider to prepare the annual federal and state income tax provision and filings, prepare property tax declarations and prepare, coordinate and review various governmental information (census) requests. *
    • and record fixed asset transactions in the Companys fixed asset system (Sage), including depreciation, preparation of fixed asset roll forwards, preparation and verification of the enterprise capital report, review of capital expenditure requests and subsequent system setup of newly approved projects. *
    • and record lease transactions in ASC 842 excel tool, maintain and record comprehensive lease schedule for property and equipment lease agreements. Assist with lease analysis to determine appropriate accounting classification. *
    • and risk management functions including preparation of annual insurance renewal information requests for the Companys insurance broker and preparation and verification of insurance schedules *
    • for payroll accounting functions including journal entry upload from payroll system (UKG), reconciliation from payroll system to general ledger, payroll related balance sheet reconciliations and preparation and verification of paid leave accrual *
    • monthly commission payments, system setup of new brokers and accurate monthly calculation of commission accrual *
    • and verification of various annual auditor requests, interaction with external audit team reviewing processes, testing samples and other schedules.
    • in preparation of Companys external financial statements including footnote disclosures, lender required reporting including calculation and verification of covenant calculations
    • in Companys annual budget process by updating excel planning templates and coordinating with cost center leaders for timely submission.Preparation of various budget to actual analysis throughout the year.
    • special projects as requested.
    • Responsibility falls within the Senior Accounting group as a whole and each individual Senior Accountant may perform some, all or none of the duties and responsibilities listed

    Education Requirements:

    Bachelors degree required with a BA/BS in Accounting

    Experience Requirements:

    5+ years of related accounting experience. Manufacturing experience is a plus

    CPA or CMA preferred

    Strong attention to detail and sense of urgency

    Excellent communication skills -- both written and oral

    Time management - ability to prioritize workload, manage ones own time and work independently

    Proficient in Excel and other Office 365 tools
