SMSI, LLC is seeking an

Electrical Engineer

to do work supporting Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL). Work would be performed from Oak Ridge, TN. The need is immediate. Position is direct hire and is a full-time position.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Prepare design studies, calculations and apply design codes to distill an integrated workable product

Position Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited school
Professional Engineer license in at least one state
10 years of related experience with DOE / 15 years of related experience non-DOE

Past projects to have included:

General facility systems design and modeling (UPS systems, VFD motor controls)
Low Voltage electrical distribution including substation preferred
Control system design (ability to integrate with vendor and site wide data collection and alarm systems)

Computer analysis methods:
Short-circuit, Arc –Flash, Lighting

Experience with project implementation/execution preferred, but not required
Experience preparing electrical system studies preferred, but not required

Active DOE Q clearance preferred, but not required

All candidates must possess:

US Citizenship

Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Excellent organizational skills

Capability with MS Office Suite

Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interface with clients, contractors, and consultant on a day-to-day basis.
