    Job Description:

    Role Summary/Purpose:

    The role of the AVP, Sales Manager at Synchrony is to effectively and profitably grow the assigned multi-state territory within a specified market for HVAC, Flooring and Home Improvement dealers.

    Location: District of Columbia, Baltimore, New York, Boston

    Essential Responsibilities:

  • Meet and exceed performance measurements based on growth budgets, profitability, penetration, efficiency and credit quality objectives
  • Develop strong business relationships to prospect new business
  • Demonstrate extensive knowledge of each product category, regulatory and compliance regulations to ensure Synchrony safety and soundness is protected
  • Build relationships with industry influencers, distributors and manufacturer sales representatives to expand Synchrony industry influence
  • Onboard and train new strategic accounts to ensure understanding of Synchrony programs, policies and requirements and to enhance sales and profitability of dealer partnership.
  • Work with dealer marketing staff to incorporate Synchrony marketing and lead generation products into their marketing strategies
  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned
  • Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum 3 years' experience in field sales/business development capacity focused in financial services; or in lieu of degree, 5 years' experience in field sales/business development, if unrelated industry.
  • Willingness to travel extensively, approximately 75%
  • Located in northeastern United States including DC, Baltimore, New York and Boston
  • Desired Characteristics:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Finance or related field.
  • Understanding of installment and revolving credit marketing and credit compliance requirements
  • Knowledge of the territory/marketplace/dealer base
  • Ability to identify new opportunities and develop alternative solutions to achieve results
  • Ability to conduct effective sales presentations, consultative and needs assessment selling
  • Strong performance track record and focus on results
  • Highly motivated with ability to handle multiple tasks and deliver on deadlines
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Experience with contact management software, i.e. Salesforce
  • Grade/Level: 10

    Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

    Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

    Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older
  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months' time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months' time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don't meet the time in position or performance expectations).
