- Build a test automation framework in Python for AI Assistant server
- Write regression and integration tests for various skills in Python to be run in the test automation framework
- Perform performance and scalability tests, as well as implement metering and monitoring, of the AI Assistant Server
- Validate and scalability test the various components of the server (prompt stores, conversation stores, index stores, and more)
- Contribute towards the CICD pipeline to deploy server in Online and in Enterprise
- Perform cost analysis of the various queries run within the server to identify alternatives and potential opportunities to keep the implementation economical
- Perform code and architecture review
- Evaluate performance of the server when run with alternate LLMs (Bedrock, Gemini, and more)
- Write regression and integration tests, as well as validate the scalability and performance, of the various DL models for Model Server
- Mentor and coach junior engineers through design and code reviews, technology presentations, and insights
- Share your leading expertise through documentation and mentorship
- 8+ years of experience in software and system development
- Proficiency in Geographic Information Systems
- Proficiency in Python and Java
- Proficiency in writing tests (thinking GIS workflows and codifying it in test frameworks)
- Hands-on experience with ML/DL/Gen AI models
- Hands-on experience in deploying ML and DL models for inferencing
- Hands-on experience in operating server architectures in one or more cloud environments (Azure, AWS, GCP, and more)
- Proficiency in architecting systems that take advantage of cloud-native services
- Bachelor's in computer science, GIS, Mathematics, or related field
- Experience with cloud services like AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure
- Demonstrated ability to self-direct, with an eagerness to learn and grow
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical team members

Our team builds cutting-edge, highly scalable, and reliable distributed software for on-premises and the cloud to make maps, geographic information, and analyses available on any device, anywhere, at any time.
As a principal software engineer, you will bring your experience in geospatial science and cloud technology to solve real world problems in GIS using ML/DL and generative AI technology. You will be embedded in the various software development teams within ArcGIS Enterprise that focus on building frameworks to apply AI principles to GIS problems. In addition, there are responsibilities for integration testing of the framework, validating the scalability and performance of the architecture, evaluating cloud-native adoption and cost analysis, as well as helping in DevOps engineering – running the built architecture in production for Online and Enterprise customers.
