    Description
    Gasket and Seal Fabricators (GSF) is a 45+ year old manufacturing company that produces custom gaskets in the Midwest. GSF is also a distributor for Parker Hannifin seals and O-rings in Missouri & Illinois. We prioritize customer service, quality standards, and employee satisfaction.

    The GSF Sales Engineer will hunt new prospects, build long-term customer relationships, and monitor market activity.

    He/She will be expected to converse intelligently with target customers who are knowledgeable on rubber compounds, industry application, and other technical specifications.

    The ideal candidate will exhibit a "consultative approach" when reaching out to new leads. Overall, the sales engineer pursues new opportunities and always seeks to add value to our customers.

    The Company places a lot of importance on training its employees.

    It is expected that this position will be heavily focused on training in the near term – with the goal of helping the sales rep achieve long-term success.

    Training will be accomplished by working directly with experienced inside sales personnel to learn our customers' needs, product characteristics, and GSF's manufacturing process.

    The sales representative will also be expected to attend in-person product trainings at Parker Hannifin and other industry events.

    Job Duties and Responsibilities

    • Develop a robust understanding of our customers, GSF's products, and capabilities
    • Research potential customers and acquire new sales by calling on buyers, engineers, and quality control personnel
    • Contact GSF's existing customers to enhance the relationship, seek additional opportunities, and gather market information
    • Coordinate with GSF management by submitting activity and results reports, such as weekly activity reports and other periodic analyses to meet sales metrics and KPIs
    • Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, delivery schedules, and manufacturing capabilities
    • Resolve customer issues by investigating problems, developing solutions, and making recommendations to management
    • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending continuous trainings, educational sessions, and participating in professional organizations
    • Contribute to GSF's long term strategy by accomplishing related duties as needed
    Skills and Qualifications

    • Minimum 5 years of experience in sales
    • Technical background or related exposure, such as engineering
    • Knowledge of manufacturing, industrial, or assembly processes preferred
    • Experience working with engineering personnel or other technical buyers preferred
    • Adept at using social media & software to assist with sales efforts (e.g., LinkedIn, CRM, etc.)
    • Driven individual who is personable and a team player
    Compensation consists of a base salary plus tiered commission (uncapped) and is proportionate with candidate's applicable experience. Other incentives include mileage reimbursement plan, company phone, and company laptop.

    • Hours: 6:45am – 4:00pm M-Th / 6:45am – 10:45am Fri
    • Estimated travel: 20-30%
