Position Summary
The Department of Physical Therapy at Utica University invites applications for a full time, tenure eligible, 9-month Assistant/Associate Professor position of Physical Therapy.
The potential start date is August 1, 2024.Location Utica, NY
Major Responsibilities
The candidate will primarily teach ground courses in the neuromuscular system curriculum. Courses are currently taught during the traditional fall and spring semesters.
Based on departmental needs, the successful candidate may also teach in other content areas, including geriatrics, pediatrics, other systems (e.g., integumentary, genitourinary, etc.), and/or research.
Additional teaching opportunities are available based on the candidate's areas of interest.The candidate will conduct research and service appropriate for Program expectations and successful tenure review.
As a DPT Program faculty member, the candidate will participate in undergraduate and graduate student academic advising and professional mentoring.

Education & Experience Qualifications
Education Qualifications:
Terminal academic doctoral degree such as a PhD, EdD, DSc, or equivalent. ABD candidates may be considered for this position.
Candidates with prior higher education teaching experience are preferred.
Required License/Certification and Qualifications:
The candidate must have a current unrestricted license or eligibility for PT licensure in New York State.
Minimum Skills/Abilities
Contemporary expertise in neuromuscular physical therapy or ABPTS Certification.
A commitment to innovation and student-centered learning.
Evidence of an ongoing or developing scholarly agenda.
Ability to engage in service activities in the department, at the University, and in the surrounding community.
Ability to function well within a collegial, collaborative work environment.
