A Development Engineer is needed for a world leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines, industrial gas turbines and diesel-electric locomotives in the Chillicothe, IL area.

This position entails researching, designing, and developing mechanical products, analyzing feasibility, troubleshooting equipment failures, collaborating within teams, and utilizing technical skills in CAD and engineering.

• Research, design, develop, manufacture, and test mechanical tools, engines, machines, and devices.
• Analyze customer design proposals, specifications, and manuals to assess project feasibility in terms of time and cost.
• Investigate equipment failures and troubleshoot faulty operations, providing recommendations to maintenance teams.
• Aid drafters in creating product structural designs using tools, equipment, or software.
• Collaborate effectively within a team environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Produce sketches, engineering drawings, and perform common computations.

• Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem solving ability.
• Team player and detail oriented.
• Ability to make sketches, engineering drawings and common computations.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawing, schematics and computer-generated reports.
• Previous experience with computer applications and software related to engineering field, such as Computer Aided Design (CAD).
