Facilities Management is looking for an energetic skilled carpenter to join our team.
Responsibilities
- Change out knives cutters & blades to maintain shop equipment.
- Demolition of existing areas & performing various building alterations & renovations.
- Laying out & constructing furniture such as cabinets picture frames bulletin boards installing new doors door jambs both metal wood framing constructing walls using materials like sheetrock wood masonry metal remodeling install cabinetry for various settings assembling ceilings handle installation of bulletin boards coat racks TV mounts monitors flooring repairs installations carpet tile wood vinyl installing countertops windows storm doors storm windows understanding tools remodeling materials blueprints interpreting schematic drawings address service-related issues communicate with supervisors provide detailed work scopes management review ensure projects run smoothly assist other preventative maintenance facilities management personnel needed incumbent required work emergencies or any event after pm weekdays weekends holidays overtime when needed shift work needed when work cannot accomplished during regular hours management staff deems necessary participate snow ice removal respond time day night scheduled by management requiring employee come into regardless weather conditions irregular extra hours needed projects emergencies frequently involve difficult conditions may require work non-business hours evenings Saturdays Sundays university closed stand bend stoop lift above shoulders heavy manual labor physical ability lift up pounds frequently excess pounds occasionally appropriate personal protective equipment PPE gloves safety glasses provided workplace use adherence all safety requirements promotion work safety mandatory vocational technical certifications registrations licenses vocational carpentry training blueprint reading
