The Electrical Engineer is responsible for the design, development, testing and maintenance of Anton Paar QuantaTec projects that support development of analytical lab instrumentation.
An an Electrical Engineer you'll be responsible for:
Developing embedded systems for new and existing instrumentation products including hardware and firmware designs
Maintaining the highest level of quality and ensuring timely delivery
Supporting project, customer, manufacturing and service needs

As a member of a multifunctional engineering disciplined team, you'll be responsible for collaborating closely with other members of R&D and operations.
To succeed in this role you should be a self-starter who balances multiple projects on defined timelines and engages with inter-company teams to refine product requirements.
Creating analog and digital electronic boards using embedded microprocessor or microcontroller designDesigning hardware suitable for high precision measurement instruments
Identifying the necessary communication devices including Ethernet, USB, CAN, I2C, RS485, RS232
Designing hardware to include power systems and wire systems
Developing methods, procedures and conditions for testing new and existing electronic systems (unit level testing, module testing, system level testing)
Researching components and identifying the appropriate power supply and digital/analog interface
Interfacing various measuring sensors
Running diagnostics checks and performing root cause analysis to ensure the product functions properly
Creating 2D CAD designs with simulations using Zuken
Ensuring parts are available for usage and anticipating their lifecycle
Wiring boards together and ensuring the board design works to meet standards
Design for and support compliance testing: CE, UL and CSA where applicable
Troubleshooting any issues reported by customer support or the operations team
Supporting technical efforts throughout the organization by employing technical expertise
Attending project meetings and providing input to project team
Staying up to date on electrical system best practices, tools and processes
May be required to travel domestically or internationally ( All other duties as assigned
Education and Experience
The Electrical Engineer typically needs a combination of education, training, certifications and skills.
This role requires the following:
BS in Electrical Engineering
Minimum of - 8 years' experience in electrical engineering
Knowledge of grounding concepts
Knowledge of CE including EMI and EMC and safety
Experience in writing test procedures
Basic knowledge of physical sciences
Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a diverse team
Strong ability to manage projects and deliver work assignments on time, within budget and at top quality
Preferred skills include:
MS in Electrical Engineering
Experience in precision measurement instrumentation design
Knowledge of compliance with national and international standards
Knowledge of system architecture
Experience in project management
Minimum of 2 years' experience in C programming
Knowledge of object-oriented programming
Knowledge of Visual GDB development tool or similar
Knowledge of MEMS devices
Six Sigma Green Belt or higher
Experience with high vacuum technology
